Newsletter – May 2010

The Lord is good to me. My car was broken into this week, my computer and camera were stolen along with an Arabic message and the testimony of the two ex-Muslim brothers. I hope the thief who was an Arabic speaker listens to the messages. I need to put all my info online so it will not make a difference if my computer crashes or if it is stolen . My car has been in the repair shop nearly every day so that has been fun. If I were a charismatic I would have the demon cast out of it. But all things work together for good. Not always in the way we want them to work out, but I pray I will love the Lord and trust him more . The two twins are now with Walid in Lebanon, and it will be a great blessing for all three of them . Walid can train the brothers, and the brothers can work with Walid in the gospel.

And for another example of His mysterious ways, this week a young lady that was to come to Israel for two and a half weeks to visit and help us out was sent back home, being denied entrance into the country on the grounds of our religious beliefs and work. It’s a reminder of the reality of the hatred that this world has for the Lord Jesus and His gospel. We are hoping to add this case on to a petition that is being made with similar situations to the court to fight for freedom of religion in this country.

Friday Nights in Tel Aviv

They are going very well with a good number of people coming along to help us every week . I bought some Bibles in Sinhala from Jordan, and I am still trying to find other languages. I am looking for a good price for a Nepalese John’s Gospel. We now have the Jesus Film, and it is in eight different languages . I bought a DVD printer so we can print the labels on the discs. We have a good little Kingdom business going . We have many good conversations and meet many open people every week.

Twice a Week at the University

This is going very well, and we give out a lot of Literature in Hebrew and Arabic and we also have some good conversations with all kinds of people with opportunities to explain the gospel. One religious Jew wanted to convert me to Judaism . I told him I go where the truth goes. He wanted me to speak to a Rabbi. He called me once and then he never called me back. A strict Muslim wanted to convert us to Islam. We replied, “If you can prove Mohammed from the Bible, we will become Muslims, but if you can’t then you need to be a Christian.” We are also trying to invite people to sit with us and drink coffee and discuss the gospel with them.

The Ministry House

We currently have three ladies living in the ministry house. God continues to send them and we will help them as much as we can. Mostly with a place to stay until they sort out their individual problems. It comes with its challenges, but God is gracious and knows what He is doing. We have one lady staying who is a believer originally from Russia but has lived in Israel for some time. We have an Arab girl that has had a difficult Muslim background. She was married at a young age and has three children, none who are in her custody at this time. Her former husband is remarried. She says that she is finished with Islam but we’re not sure where she stands in the Gospel. And we have a lady from Ukraine with two young children. She is hoping to move back to her family in Ukraine soon. Please pray for the ladies and their difficulties, especially that the two would receive saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Samaria

We went to the Samaritan village to see how they celebrate the Passover and sacrifice lambs. On the way to Samaria we handed out lots of Literature in Arabic to villages where there is no gospel witness. We went with nine people and a car full of literature and we were able to give out lots of literature. The place was full of Israelis and people even came up to me to get copies of the NT. Many Palestinian officials were also present, and they also received books and DVDs. What was sad is that there were also many believers there who are studying here in Israel but few were concerned about reaching the lost. The church sleeps and is playing games enjoying its entertainment while many are going to hell to a Christless eternity, and we continue to sleep. How many Christians go on holiday and even Christian ministers and they forget that the people around are lost and need a Saviour? I think that if we travel to any country we should make sure we also take gospel literature, especially if we come to countries here in the Middle East where there are few believers. Don’t forget, hell is a reality. Let’s stop being selfish and may we have a love for the lost and a zeal to reach them. Maybe we don’t believe the Bible. We have just adopted a religion and do that which is convenient for US.. Me… I… We need to start obeying HIM.

Tourist Evangelism

We have a program where a group of about 8 people come to Israel to help us with evangelism and see what we are doing and how we are doing evangelism. It is a training program and then the people return to their local churches and do likewise. For details about the program plus costs, please write to us.

Our summer campaign begins the last week in July and ends the first week in August. For details, please write.

At the end of May I will be in the UK for a meeting on missions so please pray. I will also be visiting my family in Manchester.

We are planning to take legal action against the Israeli Ministry of Interior so that this girl can enter Israel and also pray that we will find away for Rachel to stay in Israel for an extended period because they may be planning something against her.

In June we go to Egypt for a week to do some more ministry.

Thanks and be blessed,
